How I got here and where I hope this will take me.

We all start out with these grandiose ideas that we swear that we are going to act upon but rarely do. Sometimes these are generated during a night of many cocktails with friends, also known as drunken pipe dreams and sometimes these are random shower thoughts that seem to dissipate along with the steam once the bathroom fan is turned on. Well, this time I'm taking the acting upon said thoughts. This may wind up in the ever life sucking land of the world wide web, never to be seem by anyone and I'm OK with that. Or it could be read by a few that something might resonate with. Either way, I'm doing this for me and if you so choose to come along for the ride, you are gladly welcome.

Many moons ago, when I was an ever so awkward teen about to graduate high school, I had the pipe dream of becoming a writer. The thing is, back then... people didn't become writers. You had to become someone practical, like a teacher, work in retail a lawyer, farmer (this was in Texas for those that don't understand how farming is practical) or the ever so feministic office clerk. To be a writer was unheard of and at best a hobby. If I could have a conversation with my past self I would say this...

"Self! Just do it. It will not be easy, but if you don't try you will end up at 41 starting a blog still trying to figure out what you want to do with your life and every once in a while crying for no damn reason other than self-pity and that just freaks out your husband. The world is going to become really fucked up and you're going to need somewhere to put all of your thoughts before you make yourself crazy, literally."

So, here I am. Still figuring it out at 41 and not sure which direction to go. I'm going to take you, and myself, on a journey to see where this goes. This blog won't really have a direction or purpose. I'm going to be discussing everything from icy roads to a new purse I bought and why. Or how it feels to be a feminist that loves to play Cards Against Humanity. We will probably venture into the land of things that everyone does, but never talks about and why we instantly smell any foreign matter that gets on our hands.

So here we go...
